I am an average England fan, except…
I’ve not lived in England for twenty years (Finland at Anfield in March 2001 was the last game I attended before I left), but that doesn’t stop the passion from burning. I’m a disabled rights advocate, lobbying FIFA directly and as a “Fan Leader” for Qatar 2022 (I applied through social media -it was open to all). I use a wheelchair, following an unlikely football injury sustained over a decade ago. I can’t play soccer anymore, so I play wheelchair Australian Football (for Queensland) instead. Through NYAEF, I endeavour to promote all forms of football for all.
I’m an Anglican - but don’t hold that against me!
My wife is Scottish and she’s an England fan (and a Scotland fan, of course). What’s more, while living in Asia it became clear to me that there’s a whole array of England fans who have never set foot in England.
There are lots of ways to be NOT YOUR AVERAGE ENGLAND FAN.
Have you ever felt - for whatever reason - like you’re NOT YOUR AVERAGE ENGLAND FAN?
